Federal Member for Wannon Dan Tehan today announced that funding totalling $437,772.39 has been approved until 30 June 2014 for a number of community organisations under the Family Support Program in Wannon.
Federal Member for Wannon Dan Tehan today announced that funding totalling $437,772.39 has been approved until 30 June 2014 for a number of community organisations under the Family Support Program in Wannon.
‘I am pleased to confirm that the Balmoral Bush Nursing Centre will receive $76,875; Brophy Family and Youth Services in Warrnambool will receive $76,875; and Community Connections in Warrnambool and Portland will receive $284,022.39, Mr Tehan said.
‘It is important to support local children and families, including through services that help families navigate transitions in life and strengthen their relationships.
‘The Family Support Program funding will assist community organisations to deliver services like parenting skills training, playgroups, relationship counselling and post-separation support. These services make an important contribution to child wellbeing and development, and to stronger, more resilient families and communities.
‘These organisations will receive funding for three years until 30 June 2014, and I am pleased that this will allow them a measure of operational certainty during this time.
‘These organisations do a wonderful job of supporting families in our community, and this funding is recognition of their positive contribution to our society.
