“I have been advised by the Minister for Health, Nicola Roxon, of funding from the Health and Hospitals Fund Regional Priority Round for Timboon Health to help them provide vital local healthcare to residents of Timboon, Cobden and the surrounding areas of the Corangamite Shire.
“I would like to congratulate Timboon Health and Chairman, Mr John Renyard, for the huge effort they put in to secure this funding. They were able to put together a compelling case that demonstrated the need for improved services in this area.
The funding for Timboon Health will go towards the new community integrated primary health care facility adjoining their current facilities which will provide clinic rooms and educational facilities.
This facility will add to Timboon Health’s multipurpose healthcare service to further increase coordination and integration of health service delivery as well as expanding the range of services they are able to provide.
Timboon Health Chief Executive Officer, Mr Wayne Weaire, said that he was thrilled by the news which will add to the current scope of integrated health services that Timboon Health already provides.
“I am looking forward to being able to deliver these extended services for the region and we are glad that the urgent need for this funding was recognised,” said Mr Weaire.
“We are proud of the quality of service that Timboon Health provides the community. The people of the Timboon and Cobden region will greatly benefit from this building and this funding,” said Timboon Health Chairman, Mr John Renyard.
“I would like to thank the team here at Timboon Health, for their hard work and dedication to every individual in their care.
“I would also like to thank our local Federal Member, Dan Tehan for his strong support of this funding application and improved health services in our region,” concluded Mr Renyard.
