Adjournment debate speech welcoming the news that the government have finally admitted that their changes to the eligibility criteria for independent Youth Allowance made in 2009 were disadvantaging 'inner regional' students. The rules will now revert back to the old rules that were in place in 2009 before Julia Gillard, as then Education Minister, made her disastrous changes. This is great news for rural and regional students who wish to pursue a tertiary education.
