GREAT NEWS ON MRI MACHINE - A COALITION GOVERNMENT WILL DELIVER THE MEDICARE LICENCE
The announcement by South West Healthcare that an MRI machine will be operating in Warrnambool within weeks is wonderful news for the people of south west Victoria.
I congratulate South West Healthcare on their commitment to provide this important diagnostic tool.
However, using this machine will lead to patients incurring a significant cost, which will unfortunately put it out of reach for many people in our community.
If a Coalition Government is elected, we will deliver the Medicare funded licence that is so desperately needed for our region to ensure the affordable use of the MRI machine.
The Coalition will take real action for all members of the community in the south west and end the need to travel to Geelong or Ballarat to use this important diagnostic tool.
I have been fighting for this licence as a priority for almost a year, travelling the length and breadth of the electorate talking to health professionals and putting together the petition which was tabled in the Federal Parliament calling for a Medicare funded MRI licence.
A Coalition Government will deliver the Medicare funded licence for the South West Healthcare MRI machine and this is an important first step in the fight for a cancer centre based in Warrnambool.
