On Friday November 19 I attended the Port of Portland’s 50th Commemorative luncheon. It was part of a great community event with historical displays, tours, fireworks, a concert and a grand ball. Everyone from the CEO and employees to the people of Portland were involved and it was a fitting occasion to mark the 50th anniversary.
Approximately 130 people attended, along with the two former Members for Wannon, the Hon David Hawker and the Hon Malcolm Fraser. It was the first occasion that the three Members for Wannon, who have represented the electorate for an unbroken 55 years, were at present at the same event.
