“In the last 72 hours I have toured many flood affected towns across Wannon including Halls Gap, Stawell, Crowlands, Glenorchy, Glenlofty, Beaufort, Skipton, Panmure and Allansford and witnessed the tremendous work our local emergency services personnel are undertaking to keep us safe”, said Federal Member for Wannon, Dan Tehan today.
“I again wish to wholeheartedly thank the hard-working and dedicated emergency response teams including the local Police, State Emergency Services, Country Fire Authority, local government authorities and all of the community volunteers.
“Our local emergency services personnel are doing their utmost to ensure that people in our community remain safe, and the best thing we can do to help them is to comply with their directions and keep clear of any danger zones wherever possible.
“This flooding has to be seen to be believed, yet the communities in Wannon are pulling together to help out in whatever way they can and I have witnessed the most tremendous community spirit across western and south western Victoria.
“I have met with many people across Wannon working hard to get us safely through these unprecedented floods and I commend their selfless and invaluable service to our community.
