Shadow Minister for Tourisom Bob Baldwin and Dan Tehan are calling on the Government to match the Baillieu Government's funding for Victorian Tourism.
The Shadow Minister for Tourism, the Hon Bob Baldwin, and I have visited Halls Gap to speak with local business owners about how the recent flooding has affected their business.
Together with Mr Baldwin, we are calling on the Gillard Government to match the $1 million funding for Tourism announced by the Baillieu Government.
The Coalition is committed to matching the Baillieu Government’s $1 million programme to support business in areas affected by the floods that are heavily dependent on tourism in 2010-11. This funding boost is funded from one of the Coalition’s fully offset election commitments.
The tourism industry in Victoria is open for business. It is important they have the opportunity, like the Queensland industry does, to advertise that fact.
