Member for Wannon, Dan Tehan said a Government grant announced this week would support our retired service men and women.
Mr Tehan said, “Portland Group – Hamilton & District Legacy would receive $4,545 towards upgrading their existing toilet facilities under the Federal Government’s Veteran and Community Grants program”.
“We honour the service and sacrifice of the men and women who serve in defence of our country in many ways, and this grant program helps to improve the quality of life for veterans and their families which is important,” Mr Tehan said.
“I congratulate Portland Group – Hamilton & District Legacy on securing the grant funding, which will go towards a valuable local project, and I thank them for their invaluable commitment to improving the lives of our veterans and their families.
Mr Tehan said, “local ex-service and community organisations, veteran groups and private organisations were eligible to apply for funding for projects that contribute to the health and welfare of the veteran community through the DVA Veteran and Community Grants program”.
