Secondary school students at Bayview College in Portland will benefit from a newly refurbished classroom block thanks to $450,000 in funding from the Coalition Government.

Member for Wannon Dan Tehan officially opened the new facility today.

“It was great to visit Bayview College and see the new facilities firsthand and the impact they will have on students’ learning potential,” Mr Tehan said.

Mr Tehan said students and the whole school community would benefit from these new facilities.

“These new learning spaces take into account the latest in educational research and will see students learn more effectively”.

“This is part of the Coalition Governments commitment to ensuring students have the support they need to succeed in the classroom”.

“Students and teachers thrive when their schools have modern and up-to-date facilities – that’s why the Coalition Government is proud of the Capital Grants Program, which has benefited thousands of schools across the nation.”

The Government has committed $703 million until 2022, which provides funding for non-government schools to improve capital infrastructure.
