The South Western District Restoration Group will get an expanded exhibition space thanks to funding from the Coalition Government’s highly successful Building Better Regions Fund.
Member for Wannon, Dan Tehan, said he was delighted to see $20,000 from the Building Better Regions Fund being used to help build two new sheds for expanded exhibition and storage facilities for the group based in Cobden.
“The South Western District Restoration Group does wonderful work bringing heritage farm machinery and equipment back to their former glory. It’s a great pleasure for the Coalition Government to provide this grant so they can continue to do this work,” Mr Tehan said.
“These magnificent restored machines take pride of place in the group’s annual event in March, which attracts up to 2,000 visitors to the region, pumping vital tourism dollars into the region.”
“They also conduct Men’s Shed visits, historic tours and accommodate local school groups. This funding will go to help construct badly needed exhibition and storage space. I am delighted to see them receive this funding.”
The total construction cost of the two new sheds will be $41,000.
This project is part of a $204M total investment of Round 3 of the Coalition Government’s Building Better Regions Fund Program.
