The Coalition Government will invest $20,000 to upgrade the Dressage and Jumping Arena for the Beaufort and District Adult Riding Club.

Member for Wannon, Dan Tehan MP, said the investment is part of the Community Sport Infrastructure Grant program, which was established by the Coalition Government, to provide funding for improvements at local sporting facilities.

“Investments like these keep our communities strong. The Coalition Government has prioritised investment in local grassroots sport because we recognise the wider health, social and community benefits that come from greater activity and participating in sport,” Mr Tehan said.

“This investment of $20,000 will go to upgrade the Dressage and Jumping Arena at Raglan Recreation Reserve, which is the home base for the Beaufort and District Adult Riding Club.”

“It is a key priority of our Government to promote the social and health benefits of physical activity and sport. Our investment to upgrade sporting infrastructure will provide real support for local sporting clubs to continue to thrive.”

The investment in local facilities was made possible by an additional $40 million for the Community Sport Infrastructure Grant program which was allocated in the 2019-20 Budget.

“The demand for funding under this program has demonstrated that sporting and community organisations are eager to upgrade their facilities,” Mr Tehan said.

“Thanks to the Coalition Government’s responsible economic management and budget surplus, we are in a position to support these projects.

“Our strong economic management means that we can deliver the essential services that keep families in Wannon safe and well, and support the community groups who are the lifeblood of our communities.”
