Member for Wannon, Dan Tehan today announced $80,000 to improve access to childcare for children and families in Dartmoor.

Mr Tehan said Dartmoor Children’s Centre would receive Morrison Government support through the Community Child Care Fund (CCCF).

“This funding will help Dartmoor Children’s Centre to cover their day-to-day costs, offer transport assistance to isolated families and create additional places, ensuring families in the Dartmoor and district area could access childcare services,” Mr Tehan said.

“This investment will help our providers overcome some of the unique challenges childcare services in the city don’t face, such as attracting and retaining qualified staff. It means more hard-working families in Dartmoor can take advantage of our Government’s Child Care Subsidy to work, learn or volunteer.

“The CCCF is part of our Government’s Child Care Safety Net, which aims to give the most vulnerable children a strong start while supporting parents into work.”

Minister for Education Dan Tehan said the Morrison Government was providing more than  $7 million to 76 childcare providers in disadvantaged areas across the country.

“Our Government is providing a record investment of $8.6 billion for childcare this year,” Mr Tehan said. “Our Child Care Subsidy has reduced out-of-pocket childcare costs for families by more than 7.9 per cent.”

The Morrison Government has provided more than $120 million to 800 providers over five years to support more families to access childcare through the CCCF.
